NOTES: Founded the Prasse Basket Company in 1880 on the corner of Green and Prasse Roads. The factory burned in 1910 and was rebuilt on Mayfield Rd. It burned again in 1923, was rebuilt again and continued in business until 1966. Prime maker of baskets to market produce. He, along with his brothers, William and Ed, petitioned for the incorporation of South Euclid in 1917². Henry, Louise, and Johanna all share the same tombstone. Louise is listed simply as wife and Johanna is listed as wife and mother. This statement is intriguing as Henry and Johanna do not have any known children.

Company records officially list him as a Corporal at the time of his death. However, family verbal history says that Frank was a Color Sergeant at the time of his death. In the confusion of the retreat, Frank could well have received a "battlefield promotion" that was not officially recorded in company records. Believed buried at Fredericksburg, Virginia⁷. His name is on the Soldier's and Sailor's Monument, Public Square, Cleveland, Ohio

The 25th returned home in August 1865 and Fred was mustered out August 4, 1865. Fred fought at Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. Family records show Fred and Elizabeth as having been married on April 16, 1865. This is impossible as Fred was in South Carolina at the time, still serving in the 107th Regiment. The date of April 22, 1866 is from the Cuyahoga County records. The family belonged to St. John's Lutheran Church, Euclid, Ohio.
