The official document charges that Private Frederic Prasse of Company A, 5th Regiment, Infantry, Missouri Volunteers refused to go into the blockhouse and be silent when so ordered. The document also charges him with using disrespectful language toward Lt. Schmidt and using abusive and contemptuous words against the Company Commander, Captain W. H. Moller. Fred called the Captain a "scamp and a traitor." The incident happened August 5th 1862, near Lawson station. |
