NOTES: Gustave and his family immigrated to America in June 1855 or 56. The port of entry is yet unknown. The family residence listed in the Cleveland city directory, 1869/70 through 1901, was 214 Birch St. This street is on Cleveland's west side near West 50th St. and the Nickel Plate Railroad tracks. Gustave was naturalized on October 23, 1872. Information from the 1900 Census lists Gustave and Christina as having been married 55 years and having nine children, four still living. Christina is buried in the Monroe St. Cemetery. |

NOTES: Emil with his brothers, Charles and Manuel, founded the Prasse Lumber Company. Sarah was the third child of Bartholomew Stocker (son of Andrew Stocker and Magelina Buhre; born 1_2_1833 in Canton, Bern, Switzerland) and Mary Krummwiede (daughter of Wilhelm Krummwiede (descended from Heinrich and Dorothe (nee, Ritter)), and Sophia Scharnhorst; born 3_21_1848 in Hanover, Germany). Mary was brought to Cleveland in October 1849 and her family moved to Dover, Ohio in 1858. Bartholomew and Mary lived in Cleveland until 1870 and then moved to Rockport Hamlet which Amos Prasse remembers as Settlement Road, now 130th Street. |

After serving at the end of WWI in the Cavalry, Hal received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oberlin College and an MBA from Harvard in 1921 or 22. His career work was in economic and financial areas. He was employed by White Motor Company in Cleveland and then the family moved to the Chicago area (Winnetka) in 1936. Hal was Manager of Branches for Crane Company in Chicago until his retirement in 1962. He was an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts, Onward Neighborhood House Board, and the Winnetka Congregational Church. Fannie also graduated from Oberlin in 1919. In the 1920s she was employed as a social worker in Philadelphia and Cleveland. She was active in the PTA, Girl Scouts, Onward Neighborhood House, and the Winnetka Congregational Church. Fannie's father, Alva Ross Dittrick was a Cuyahoga County Commissioner. He descended from Roscoe Dittrick whose family relocated from America to Canada during the Revolutionary War. Fannie's mother, Harriet Neville, comes from the Sackett and Dutton family groups of pre_Revolutionary War times. Her great_grandfather, John Neville, was born in 1797 in Shropshire, England. |
